U.S. 30 Coalition Receives Update from Consultants
On July 15, APPIAN, Inc., the consultants hired for the U.S. 30 Study commissioned by OrthoWorx, updated the U.S. 30 Coalition on the progress of the strategic plan to improve Northeast Indiana’s portion of U.S. 30 and bring it up to freeway standards. The presentation focused on infrastructure and legislative issues at the state level. Following the presentation by APPIAN, each county presented their plan for corridor improvements. RDA Board Approves Funding for Two Projects
The Board of the Northeast Indiana Regional Development Authority (RDA) approved Regional Cities Initiative funding for projects submitted by the Embassy Theatre and the YMCA of DeKalb County. The Board approved the Embassy Theatre’s request of $1.7 million to fund the Vision for the Embassy project, which is 17.5 percent of the project’s total cost of $10 million, and the YMCA of DeKalb County’s request for $947,000 for the Northeast Indiana Youth Development Complex, which is 13 percent of the project’s total cost of $7.2 million. To date, the RDA board has recommended more than $11 million in Regional Cities Initiative funding toward projects that will involve $87,682,032 in public and private sector investment.
