Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Emerging Leaders Alliance?

The Emerging Leaders Alliance (ELA) is a network of young residents, between the ages of approximately 19 and 29, committed to developing a community of future leaders and creating opportunities for action, growth, and regional pride. Serving as an advisory body to the Regional Partnership, the ELA is a place for young leaders to take their careers one step further and create positive change in their community. The ELA is a place for advancement, growth, and powerful possibility.

How can I get involved?

There are three ways to get involved with the ELA: as a member, as a committee member, or as a volunteer. Want to influence the economic future of Northeast Indiana? Contact us today to become a member.

How does the ELA help the region economically?

Young professionals, with their unique position in the workforce, are critical to the success of our communities and our region. In our 2012 study on millennials, the data revealed that to compete in the global marketplace, increase business investment, and attract and retain a talented workforce, we need to include the voice of our future leaders. As we work to build a bigger and bolder region, we must consider the voice of young professionals so that we create a place where people not only want to work but also build a life.

What role does the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership play in the ELA?

The Regional Partnership provides staffing and financial support to the ELA. We work with the ELA to identify and support effective strategies, and we encourage regional alignment of resources and initiatives to support the ELA. While the Regional Partnership spearheads the program, the implementation and success of the ELA vision are ultimately dependent on ELA members. They are the visionaries. They are the leaders.
