Indiana Perfumery Studio Plans 10-Year Celebration
Ten years ago, Annie Oakley Perfumery founder Renee Gabet took a bold leap and opened a Perfumery Studio at 300 Johnson Street in Ligonier to allow the public to visit and sample the many naturally-made products manufactured there. Since then, Annie Oakley has continued to grow its product line and the Perfumery Studio has earned a reputation for being a top tourist destination in northern Indiana.
To celebrate this milestone, Annie Oakley is planning a big 10th Anniversary Gala Bash July 28-30 that is open to the public. “You’re invited to join us for the magical sensory shopping experience of a real perfumery. We will be giving our one-of-a-kind, award-winning Sensory Tour all three days,” said Gabet. Perfumery tours will start promptly at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day of the celebration, while the Annie Oakley Gift Shop will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., which are its typical business hours.
“It’s been an amazing ten years since opening up our Perfumery Studio and greeting thousands of guests and giving them a peek inside our one-of-a-kind perfumery,” according to Gabet. “Our Perfumery Studio is a happy place for them to enjoy rare scents and our world-famous Mixing Bar. We love creating new fragrances and allowing our guests to create their own personal fragrance,” she said, noting that Annie Oakley is known for its collection of rare, world-class organic essential oils and its unique Wild West-inspired fragrances produced in northern Indiana.
Guests for the 10-year anniversary celebration of the Perfumery Studio will have an opportunity to listen to the owners share their short story about the beginnings of Annie Oakley and stroll down memory lane. The Gabets will tell how they created the first cowgirl fragrance in the 1980s, met with cowboy actor Roy Rogers to create him a fragrance, collaborated with famous Paris designer Pierre Dinand to design Annie Oakley’s iconic perfume bottles, and share more interesting stories.
Each Perfumery Studio guest July 28-30 will have the opportunity to create their own fragrance at the Annie Oakley Mixing Bar and take home their own personal scent of the firm’s organic body oil, along with a “swag bag” of goodies. There will be anniversary special offers, and a chance to win an array of gifts, including drawings for Annie Oakley’s new T-shirt bearing the phrase “I Toured a Real Perfumery,” and more surprises. In addition, tasty birthday treats and refreshments will be served to all of the guests.
While walk-ins to the three-day celebration are welcomed, due to limited seating guests are encouraged to reserve their seat online through www.AnnieOakley.com/topic/perfumery-tours or by calling 260-894-7219. There is a $5 charge for tours, but each guest receives a $5 coupon toward the purchase of gift shop items.
