Northeast Indiana Featured in the Chicago Tribune as Top Travel Destination

Fort Wayne Recognized as Top City to Visit in Midwest
Chicago Tribune Travel Editor Lori Rackl published her annual Best of the Midwest: 10 places to go in 2020, and she featured Fort Wayne, Northeast Indiana’s vibrant city center!
This result stems from the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership's collaboration with the region’s national public relations firm Development Counsellors International (DCI) and a close partnership with Visit Fort Wayne. Through proactive outreach surrounding Fort Wayne and Northeast Indiana’s lifestyle storylines, Rackl featured information about Promenade Park and the Vera Bradley Annual Sale and additional quality of life information.
Fort Wayne is featured along with places like Sheboygan, Wis., Marquette, Mich. and Bloomington, Ind. The write up on Fort Wayne focuses heavily on the city’s investments in the downtown areas including the Landing and Promenade Park—highlighting the outdoor recreation opportunities from kayaking to biking miles of trails—and restaurants, living space and retail. Rackl also includes the new Vera Bradley-backed boutique hotel that is set to open later this year, as well as the Middle Waves Music Festival being held at Electric Works.
