Elevate Northeast Partners with Eleven Fifty Academy for Regional Expansion
Fort Wayne, Ind. (Feb 9, 2021) – Elevate Northeast Indiana, an entrepreneurial initiative launched by Elevate Ventures and the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, in conjunction with numerous corporate supporters are partnering with Eleven Fifty Academy to bring the coding bootcamp to Northeast Indiana.
In 2015, the Parkview Mirro Center for Research & Innovation hosted a custom application development course taught by Eleven Fifty Academy. The results were promising and planted a strong seed of interest for future engagement. Dr. Michael Mirro, Chair of Elevate Northeast Indiana, has been a driving force to bring the coding bootcamp back to the region to upskill individuals into sustainable careers in information technology.
“Eleven Fifty Academy graduates are already part of our economy and we are working on creating more opportunities for our residents to upskill into tech careers,” said Dr. Mirro. “We welcome additional partners to make this effort a win for Northeast Indiana and especially successful for those who wish to enter a new career.
“I work with early-stage companies in need of tech talent every day,” said Dan Meek, entrepreneur-in-residence at Elevate Ventures. “Eleven Fifty Academy will be a great resource and technology advisor to help continue the development and acceleration of new business in the region.”
One of several area corporate sponsors in the Northeast Indiana region is Sweetwater.

Eleven Fifty Academy is an Indiana non-profit that provides computer coding classes, primarily in the form of 12-24-week bootcamps, where students with no prior coding experience can become proficient through the Academy’s immersive curriculum. The Eleven Fifty bootcamp options are valuable resources to enhance the area technology pool of skilled workers. The Academy currently has an 83 percent placement rate with an average salary of over $55,000.

The funds provided by Elevate Northeast Indiana and corporate partners will be matched by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation to provide a total of $500,000 in the form of tuition support. The tuition aid, which is titled Progressive Income Share Agreement (PISA), will provide students from the Region zero interest financial aid that are only paid back once the student is hired.
