Celebrating Collaboration and a Shared Vision – A View from the Boardroom
From the Regional Partnership's Governing Board
When the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership was formed in 2006, the founding board members envisioned a cohesive coalition that would unite Northeast Indiana with a shared vision of economic growth and vitality. The Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership has exceeded the early expectations of its founding board members and today represents one of the strongest efforts at regionalization in the state, and perhaps the country. It has not been an easy journey, but it has been a rewarding one. The Regional Partnership has always been about collaboration. It’s been about overcoming historical territorialism for the betterment of Northeast Indiana. It’s been about spanning historical gaps between the private sector and the public sector. And, most importantly, it has been about a shared vision for the collective growth of our Northeast Indiana communities.
In 2006, John Sampson was chosen to lead the organization as its first president and CEO. For the last 15 years, John has led the organization with an unwavering passion and dedication. Throughout his tenure, he has focused on the core foundational principles embraced by our visionary community leaders when they conceived the Regional Partnership. John and the Regional Partnership team have worked closely with an exceptional coalition of partners from the public and private sectors to create and execute this shared vision. Through active engagement and consensus building with elected officials, economic development professionals and private sector partners, the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership has succeeded at regionalism at a level beyond the expectations of those founding board members.
As we celebrate John’s leadership over the past 15 years, we also celebrate the support and commitment that has come from every corner of the 11 Indiana counties that are represented by the Regional Partnership. The strength and vitality of our region is a remarkable legacy built by many who have shared the vision for the future as conceived at the Regional Partnership’s formation. As we look to the future, we are encouraged by the past success of the Regional Partnership under John’s leadership. We are thankful for his commitment and dedication to the vision created by our predecessors and look forward to a strong future for Northeast Indiana. As it has always been, the success of the Regional Partnership will be defined by the collaboration of everyone involved from our unique 11 county region. We remain committed to the aspirational goals of regionalism inherent to the Regional Partnership’s mission and look forward to the next chapter.
