JA JobsSpark! Seeks Company Partners
Help Develop Young Talent with Junior Achievement
Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana will host a two-day interactive career expo for 8th-grade students in northeast Indiana on Thursday, November 12 and Friday, November 13. This event is meant to “spark” an interest in students and get them excited for their future.
Students will take part in fun, interactive activities in various career clusters, explore new opportunities, and cultivate their interests in regional careers. They will learn about the skills needed for jobs that will be in demand when they graduate while utilizing equipment that is used for those jobs daily.
After the event, students will have a better understanding of the courses they will need to take in high school, a track for post-secondary, and a clear career pathway that aligns with their interests.
This large-scale career expo will incorporate hands-on learning experiences designed by industry teams that align with what each industry is looking for from its future employees.
Over 9,000 students will be invited to participate in JA of Northern Indiana’s JA Job Spark at the J. Kruse Education Center in Auburn, Indiana.
The following industry clusters will be represented at JA JobSpark:
- Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering, & Logistics
- Agriculture, Food, & Natural Resources
- Architecture, Engineering, & Construction
- Business, Finance, & Marketing
- Government, Law, & Public Service
- Health & Life Science
- Hospitality, Tourism, & Arts
- Information Technology
JA of Central Indiana has hosted an event of this magnitude for the past 5 years. Please take a look at the video from JA JobSpark Indianapolis.
We are seeking industry partners to participate in JA JobSpark. As an important employer in this region, Junior Achievement would love the opportunity to speak with regional businesses to discuss how to get involved.
