Turning Passions into a Paycheck for Northeast Indiana Students

May 4th, 2021

Your Future: Make It Your Own is a student-centered talent development and retention initiative established by the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, Ivy Tech Community College Fort Wayne and Warsaw, Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana, and Region 8 Education Service Center with support from the Schwab Foundation. It aims to empower teens and early-twenty-somethings to identify their unique strengths and apply them to a post-graduation path that will lead to career success and fulfillment.

Regardless of background, outside pressure, or personal uncertainty, we believe that every individual can determine what will define their way forward—tapping into their personal strengths, finding what energizes them, and turning their passions into a paycheck.

The path to success isn’t always a straight line. Your Future: Make It Your Own is dedicated to helping students focus on their personal strengths. There are more opportunities out there than ever before, and we’ve made it our goal to change the way students think about their options.

Planning for the future shouldn’t seem like a chore. It’s something students can choose for themselves. Join us in helping high schoolers and recent grads identify their unique skills and apply them to a successful future.

To showcase stories of students exploring career opportunities, we partnered with Fort Wayne Magazine to tell the story of Makayla Waugh, a junior at Homestead High School. To read the full story, visit Fort Wayne Magazine's website or pick up a copy
