Fort Wayne International and Delta Announce New Options for Atlanta Flight

March 28th, 2019

Enjoy the upgrade! Delta Airlines currently serves Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA) with four daily nonstop flights to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).

Beginning Wednesday, May 1, 2019, Delta will explore utilizing larger aircraft and will begin upgauging one nonstop flight to and from ATL per day—except for Saturday’s. This trial period will change one daily, 50-seat CRJ-200 to a 76-seat, dual class CRJ-900 from May 1, 2019–June 7, 2019.

In order for this trial period to be successful, and to see this upgauge return permanently, FWA needs the Fort Wayne community to utilize the larger, upgauged, aircraft when their travel plans allow. The flight times for the CRJ-900 will be the 11:07 a.m. departing flight from FWA to ATL, and the 8:50 a.m. arriving flight from ATL to FWA.

With the support of FWA’s passengers and the community, Delta will see that our airport can support larger aircraft, and may bring them into their daily operations at FWA permanently. Please support these upgauged aircraft, and upgrade your travel plans, or book your flight, now!
