Helping Students Turn Talents and Strengths Into a Meaningful Career

Connecting Northeast Indiana Talent with Opportunities

The Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership is working with regional students, educators and industry partners to ensure that students in our region understand what they’re good at and how they can get paid for it. We believe it’s important that students learn how to turn their talents and strengths into meaningful careers doing something they’re good at and that they like.

We want them to know who they are, what they’re good at and what they like to do.

We want them to connect what they know about themselves to the possibilities and opportunities that are available to them after they graduate from high school. Once they’ve made those connections, we want them to be able to select the kind of training and further skill development that will put them on the path to their dreams, invest in whatever those training and skill development opportunities are, and go get them!

A great example of an opportunity for skill development and the potential for a satisfying career opportunity after high school is Northeast Indiana FAME.

Northeast Indiana FAME is a partnership between several regional advanced manufacturing companies including Fort Wayne Metals, LH Industries, Micropulse, Steel Dynamics and Zimmer Biomet as well as educational partner Ivy Tech.

NEINFAME is a dual-track, work-based learning training that will offer both college classroom study in the advanced manufacturing field and paid work experience with one of the sponsoring companies. At the conclusion of the two-year program, the student will have earned an associate degree in Advanced Manufacturing from Ivy Tech and will have the potential to work with a sponsoring company, continue their education or try something new. For students interested in working with their hands and jumping right into a cool industry, this opportunity provides a relatively fast, debt-free path to a highly-skilled career.

So, if you know of a high school senior who might be interested in this program, this could be a good option for them. NEINFAME will be recruiting high school seniors this fall in preparation for a fall 2021 launch.
