Mentorship Program FAQ
What precautions are being taken in response to COVID-19?
We are monitoring all federal, state and local guidance regarding fall events and travel. Our top concern is the health and safety of artists, mentorship program participants, volunteers and all event attendees, and we are considering several possible scenarios for Mural Fest events. We plan to host a responsible, safe and fun Mural Fest in September 2020, and we’ve pushed back the application deadlines to give artists more time to respond during this challenging time.

- Mentorship Program selection: June 2020

Will the Mentorship Program volunteers be paid?
Mentorship Program participants are volunteers and will not be compensated.
Do Mentorship Program volunteers need to have mural experience?
No, not at all! This is a unique opportunity for local aspiring muralists to gain valuable experience in installing large-scale murals. No previous mural experience is required.
What if I am only available to volunteer a few days during the Mural Fest?
That is fine! We understand that work or school may prohibit you from being onsite for all 11 days. We just ask that you’re honest about your availability on your application. This will help us assign enough mentees to each muralist.
What kind of tasks may I be asked to complete as a Mentorship Program volunteer?
Each muralist will have a different methodology. Generally, you are there to help, learn, listen and gain experience. You may be asked to help keep inventory, put the paint away each night or even paint the mural! Keep an open mind and you could garner a great deal from this opportunity.
