Ribfest returns downtown for 19th year

FORT WAYNE –

The 19th annual BBQ Ribfest at Headwaters Park starts Thursday and runs through Sunday.

This year’s family event features some of the best Rib Masters from across the country and some of the best blues music around.

Nearly 40,000 people are expected to attend the event.

Timmy’s Pizza and BBQ, Carolina Rib King, Pigfoot BBQ, Jack on the Bone, Texas Pit Barbecue, Big Boned BBQ, Desperado’s BBQ and many other vendors will be on hand with food ranging from BBQ ribs to brisket to pulled pork.

Admission to Ribfest is FREE Thursday through Saturday until 5:30 p.m. After that, cost is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $4 for students, military, police and fire (with ID), and children under 13 are FREE. On Sunday, all admission is $3.

Saturday is the 4th Annual Ribfest 5K.
