FWA’s unprecedented growthDecember 31, 2015
In 2015, FWA experienced unprecedented growth. Total traffic for the airport rose 11 percent in 2015, totaling 715,907, compared to 643,887 in 2014. FWA also added another daily flight to Charlotte, North Carolina.

FWA Announced New FlightsMay 1, 2014
In May, the Fort Wayne–Allen County Airport Authority announced two new nonstop routes with American Airlines: to Philadelphia and to Charlotte, North Carolina. The Regional Air Service Committee (RASC) convened in late May to celebrate and congratulate the Airport Authority on the huge win for Northeast Indiana.
Final Stage of Funding ApprovalMarch 3, 2014
In March, FWA completed the final stage of funding approval for a minimum-revenue guarantee (MRG), a type of funding used as an incentive for a new eastbound route. FWA received funds from the Small Community Air Service Development Program (SCASDP) and the Regional Opportunities Council (ROC), and when the Fort Wayne City Council approved a $600,000 funding request, the MRG incentive package was complete.

In February, Vision 2020, the Fort Wayne–Allen County Airport Authority, and Greater Fort Wayne, Inc. held the first Regional Air Service Committee meeting of 2014. The committee heard a presentation on the progress FWA had made to secure a minimum-revenue guarantee (MRG). The funding would be used as an incentive for a new eastbound route.
Grant Awarded to FWAOctober 10, 2013
In October, the Fort Wayne–Allen County Airport Authority was awarded a $600,000 grant from the Small Community Air Service Development Program (SCASDP) to help attract a new flight to FWA. RASC members and the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership submitted letters of support for the grant application. The Regional Opportunities Council (ROC) committed $50,000 as the first private investment to support the revenue-guarantee program needed to bring a new flight to FWA.
