Anne Marie Murphy joined NEI in March 2022. Her key responsibility includes tracking, understanding and translating community and industry trends into strategies to improve the region’s competitive position. From assembling, organizing, coordinating and convening investor groups and councils to supporting the Business Development team, Anne Marie’s work helps develop relationships that increase the capacity for Northeast Indiana to grow.
With nearly 20 years as a serial entrepreneur and business coach in Indiana, Anne Marie’s experience in project management, team building and understanding of regional needs contributes to the team’s mission to build, market, and sell Northeast Indiana. Anne Marie has always been passionate about making meaningful change and believes there is a bright future of Northeast Indiana. She is guided by the desire to help propel the region forward by convening and collaborating with local businesses leaders to highlight the progressive business climate and quality-of-life assets in the region.
Anne Marie has solo hiked since she was 16 and has always been a runner, but has taken up doing ultramarathons with her husband, Frank, and completed a 50 mile race.
In addition to her work for NEI, Anne Marie volunteers with several groups in the region, including Mission: Motherhood and The Northeast Indiana Diaper Bank and Pantry. Anne Marie was awarded the International Women’s Day Award from local non-profit Bring-It Push-It Own-It for her work lifting women entrepreneurs and promoting social responsibility. She grew up on the East Coast and received her bachelor’s degree from The Pennsylvania State University, where she majored in Biology and minored in Vertebrate Physiology. After moving to Indiana, Anne Marie received her associate’s degree in nursing from The University of Saint Francis, and her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Nursing Education from Western Governors University. She has also received her master’s degree in Business/Strategic Management with a healthcare focus from Indiana Wesleyan University.
