Employer Benefits for Hiring Veterans in Indiana

Through Gov. Eric Holcomb's Next Level Veterans initiative, the State of Indiana is working hard to honor our nation's veterans and attract them to live and work in the state. 

The Honor Our Vets program, offered by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA), is specifically designed to keep and welcome qualified active duty, veterans and retired military personnel to the state.

How does it work?

First, Northeast Indiana employers must apply for the program in the form below to offer this benefit to prospective talent as the $5,000 is reimbursable to only participating Indiana employers. Employers can access up to $5,000 that can be used to cover relocation expenses, closing costs or can be used toward a down payment of a new home. Additionally, IHCDA can assist veterans with getting a VA loan and other homebuyer programs to make purchasing a home more affordable.
