FORT WAYNE – Steven Townes has been promoted to Vice President of Operations at The Regional Chamber of Northeast Indiana. Townes has been with the chamber since 2018 in various roles, including chief of staff, executive assistant and administrative assistant.
“I am deeply grateful to The Regional Chamber of Northeast Indiana’s exceptional leadership for my promotion to Vice President of Operations. My promotion is a testament to the Regional Chamber’s undeniable contributions to our continued regional development. It allows me to play a pivotal role in collaborating with community leaders, government officials, and industry partners to strengthen the region’s business ecosystem further,” Townes said.
Townes’ duties are overseeing the day-to-day operations of The Regional Chamber of Northeast Indiana developing and implementing strategies to ensure the organization’s success and growth by managing the organization’s staff, budget and resources.
“I plan to use my extensive experience, meaningful relationships, and deep understanding of the chamber’s mission to lead our operations, drive innovation, and advance the economic well-being of our region. I am committed to fostering a collaborative environment that empowers our chamber members, facilitates regional growth, and enhances the overall business climate in Northeast Indiana,” Townes said. “My dedication to promoting the prosperity of local businesses will undoubtedly strengthen the chamber’s impact and influence. I look forward to the challenges ahead.”
Townes is a graduate of Elmhurst High School. He earned his associate, bachelor’s and master’s from American InterContinental University. Townes served in the United States Army for over 14 years.
The Regional Chamber advocates for businesses in shaping laws, policies and regulations. “We care about all Hoosiers, but our primary focus is the 11 counties of Northeast Indiana. Our nonpartisan approach to advancing legislation important to Northeast Indiana’s growth enhances cooperation and coordination among the area’s nine senators, 12 representatives, two U.S. Congressmen and two U.S. Senators.”
