A talent pool with an unparalleled work ethic is mirrored by an economic landscape that crosses industries, with strengths in defense and aerospace, distribution and e-commerce, food and agriculture, medical devices, specialty insurance and vehicle manufacturing. Named a 21st Century Talent Region by Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb, the region works collectively to give site selectors, economic developers and business decision-makers swift responses to requests for information and to directly connect employers to Northeast Indiana’s robust talent pipeline by convening the Northeast Indiana Colleges and Universities network, a collaborative effort among ten unaffiliated higher education institutions. This unique consortium is designed to ensure that employers considering a relocation or expansion in Northeast Indiana have access to the talent they need.

By partnering with regional workforce development organizations like Northeast Indiana Works and WorkOne Northeast career centers, Northeast Indiana is investing in the region’s talent. Northeast Indiana Works is a publicly funded workforce development organization that provides employment and training services for employers and workers in the 11-county region of Northeast Indiana. Employers benefit from customized recruitment/hiring events, applicant screening and assessment activities, development and support of training programs for new hires and assistance with a variety of new hire processes based upon employer needs.
