The 4th annual Pioneer Event will be here before you know it!
Next year’s event will be on May 7th at The Fairfield!
This past year’s event, we had more nominees, more videos, more categories, and more community involvement, which resulted in an increase in live votes for our 2025 Pioneer of the Year, Dan Starr.
Our 2025 Junior Pioneer was Sammie Vance, Founder of Sammie’s Buddy Bench Project! Her project has been spreading kindness around the world and is a wonderful story.

We anticipate more growth for next year’s event. We have already seen an increase in nominees and expect more involvement from the community.
In April, we will have community voting for our category winners, followed by our event, where the 2026 Pioneer of the Year will be announced after live voting.
The Pioneer Event is more than a celebration; it’s a significant boost for the community. It highlights the best of Northeast Indiana and brings people together. Additionally, it shows that there are many ways to pioneer in our region.
