Your Niche in Northeast Indiana’s Insurance Industry

Connected. Diversified. Specialized.

It’s no secret that Northeast Indiana is a place where successful insurance companies thrive, fueled by high-tech and diversified product lines. From the beginning, our region has been home to an expanding specialty insurance industry.

From major league baseball stadiums to rock concerts, churches, ministries, and more, specialty insurance is a stable and vibrant industry employing nearly 4,000 individuals while experiencing rapid growth throughout each niche of insurance. Woven into the region’s history, jobs in the Specialty Insurance field account for 53% of all jobs in the finance and insurance industry in Northeast Indiana–compared to just 39% for the nation.

Regardless of your interests, chances are that Northeast Indiana is home to the insurance provider for it.

Not only are these insurance providers thriving, but they are innovating and incorporating Northeast Indiana’s sustainability goals into their day-to-day operations. Ash Brokerage recently released a new form of technology that uses predictive data to instantly connect clients with an insurance policy. As the shift to a digital environment has become increasingly prevalent, companies like Ash Brokerage have taken advantage of new opportunities to reach more customers at a navigable pace they are able to set themselves. An additional company advancing the industry includes Swiss Re phasing out thermal coal among other ambitious carbon reduction plans. The multinational company has even committed to transitioning its investment portfolio to net-zero greenhouse emissions by 2050 and hopes other companies will follow suit.

Rounding out the cluster of specialty entertainment insurance providers who call Northeast Indiana home is American Specialty insuring amusement parks, gyms, concerts, as well as hotels and resorts. K&K Insurance Group, Inc. insures sports and recreation opportunities including motorsports, camps,  and resorts. Colleges, universities, and Christian ministries, camps, and mission trips can all find coverage at Brotherhood Mutual. Healthcare providers can protect themselves with plans from MedPro, which just might be the oldest specialty insurance company in the books as it was founded right here in  Fort Wayne in 1889. The region is equally excited for the next niche of insurance specialty and the  industry employees who just might call Northeast Indiana “home.”
