Dan Bish joined NEI in May 2024. He is responsible for driving NEI’s business attraction goals and objectives, developing strategic partnerships nationally, and building relationships with key stakeholders and site selector consultants. With a decade-long career in community and economic development, Dan has worked with multiple local governments, including those in St. Louis, Dayton, and Pittsburgh. His focus has been on business retention, expansion, and attraction project management, as well as collaborating with local governments to create and implement economic development strategies.

Dan holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Saint Vincent College and a master’s degree in public administration and policy analysis from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. He has furthered his professional development by graduating from the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute in 2022. Additionally, Dan has served on the loan review committee for the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission (SPC), the Regional Development Funding Corporation (RDFC), and Axiom Advancement Corporation. He has also volunteered on the board of the Wilkins Area Industrial Development Authority in the Pittsburgh region.

  • Dan has a background in Political Science and a long career in local government, so he’s always reading about local government policy and best practices.
  • In his free time, Dan enjoys exploring new communities and trying out new breweries and restaurants, catching live music, and visiting attractions around town.
  • Dan is originally from St. Louis, so he’s a big Cardinals and Blues fan, but he looks forward to going to lots of games at Parkview Field and cheering on the TinCaps!
