Broadband access was a key priority for our Vision 2020 work, which has evovled to form Vision 2030.

Regional Broadband Access Added as Vision 2020 Priority
January 9, 2012The Regional Opportunities Council (ROC) voted to adopt Regional Broadband Access as a Vision 2020 priority. The long-term vision included expanded broadband width and availability across Northeast Indiana to become one of the most wired regions in the country.

Regional Broadband Access Presented
January 10, 2011Regional Broadband Access was presented as an opportunity to expand broadband width availability in Northeast Indiana with the goal to become one of the most wired regions in the country. Internet access in Northeast Indiana was found to be inconsistent, with some areas heavily wired with hot spots and access abounding, while other areas were spotty at best. Broadband access was described as an infrastructure improvement that could be used to attract businesses and entrepreneurs, enhance education, increase rural connectivity, and even contribute to quality of life.
