It is with deep gratitude and more than a few bittersweet feelings that we announce the departure of Vanessa Hurtig, our Vice President of Administration, after 18 remarkable years with the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, to stay home with her children. Vanessa’s last day will be May 28th.
Vanessa joined NEI in 2007 as an intern, drawn by the organization’s unique approach to applying business principles within a mission-driven, nonprofit environment. What began as an internship became an 18-year journey of extraordinary impact. She grew from project coordinator to VP of Administration, becoming the institutional backbone of everything NEI is today.
In her role, Vanessa has directed all administrative functions of the organization, including human resources, IT, organizational planning, and team development. She has been the person who keeps the lights on, the culture strong, and the team equipped to do its best work. Her depth of knowledge and extensive network of relationships have helped turn NEI into what it is today.
Vanessa has been here since the beginning. She’s witnessed the region grow from one where economic development was barely recognized as a profession to one that is now regarded as the premier economic development region in Indiana, with growing national recognition. Her loyal dedication to NEI’s mission, to the people of Northeast Indiana, and to our team is second to none.
This transition has been planned for with existing team members in place to take on Vanessa’s responsibilities. I am proud of the team we have in place and the growth opportunities this provides for them to continue the good work of the administration.
Please join me in thanking Vanessa for 18 incredible years of impact, commitment, and heart. The region is better because of her.
