John Sampson, president and CEO of the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, and Kathleen Randolph, president and CEO of WorkOne Northeast, will speak at the 2012 National League of Cities Congress of Cities and Exposition.

The conference takes place Wednesday through Sunday in Boston. According to an announcement, Sampson and Randolph will speak about how economic-development and work-force organizations can work together effectively.

The major themes for the conference are: promoting strong local economies; building sustainable communities; and strengthening neighborhoods and families.

"It is inspiring to see northeast Indiana be selected to tell its story at the National League of Cities Conference," Bluffton Mayor Ted Ellis, who this year is serving as president of the National League of Cities, said in the announcement.

"Northeast Indiana is on the leading edge when it comes to uniting the efforts of economic and work-force development, and those efforts are now being recognized on a national level as a best practice."
