Arts United and several local organizations are partnering to crowdfund riverfront programming, the organization announced Wednesday.
The Fort Wayne organization that, according to its website, strives to advance “the creative sector by mobilizing resources to elevate our community’s quality of life,” is asking for funds to support three riverfront programs – Water Trail Maps, Faces of the Fort and Surprise Cinema.
The program, called Amplify Art!, is partnering with the city of Fort Wayne, Riverfront Fort Wayne and the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne to achieve its goals.
“Using a crowdfunding platform like Amplify Art! to mobilize community support, awareness, and visibility for Riverfront Fort Wayne programming seemed like a natural fit,” Susan Mendenhall, president of Arts United, said in a statement. “The projects we are helping to support are remarkable, creative projects that will provide exciting and innovative opportunities for all members of the community to interact with the riverfront.”
The goal of the two-week campaign is to raise $5,000 for each project by March 15.
