Chapman’s Brewing Company opens new taproom in SW Fort Wayne
By Rob Lydick | WANE
The craft beer scene in Fort Wayne continues to grow. Chapman's Brewing Company recently opened their first standalone taproom in the Summit City. And they say others may be on the way.
Chapman's Brewing Company began making craft beers at their Angola facility in 2012. They opened a taproom the following year. Since then, they've added taproom locations in Columbia City and Wabash and have been serving beer in downtown Fort Wayne within Fortezza Coffee. With the continued momentum of the craft beer industry in northeast Indiana, Chapman's felt a southwest Fort Wayne location would be perfect.
The new taproom opened in the space vacated by Salud Tapas & Tequila next to the Salsa Grille at Coventry. The owner of Chapman's said the location was ideal given its proximity to I-69 and US-24.
Customers will find many of the craft beers they've grown to love, including Undaunted Single Hop IPA and Englishman Southern Brown Ale. In addition, the taproom will feature several limited batch brews and food paired to go with them. Menu items include Wisconsin cheese curds, queso mac & cheese, chicken strips, and Chapman's Prime Burger. Patrons may also purchase food at Salsa Grille next door and bring it with them into the taproom. Additionally, customers are also permitted to purchase beer at Chapman's and take it next door to Salsa Grille.
Within the taproom, customers will find murals and artwork from local artists. Supporting the local community is important to the founder of Chapman's, which is why they source all hops for their beers from a local farm in Wolcottville.
The local brewing company is hoping to continue expanding in Fort Wayne. Chapman's is particularly interested in opening locations on the City's south and northwest sides.
Chapman's new southwest Fort Wayne taproom is located at 5735 Falls Drive. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
