Entrepreneurs invited to e-commerce seminar

Qualifying entrepreneurs in the region will receive a special discount to an E-commerce and Logistics Seminar featuring Terry Jones, former president and CEO of Travelocity, as the keynote speaker.
The event is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Parkview Mirro Event and Conference Center, 10622 Parkview Plaza Drive.
Designed as a day to talk shop with some of the top minds in the region for marketing, information technology, web development, business-to-business and business-to-consumer operations, an announcement said it will include “fast-paced, deep dive into the trends that are shaping the industry today — and what you can do to keep your business ahead of the competition.”
Jones is is a venture capitalist with General Catalyst and Sierra Angels and chairman for WayBlazer who is best known for founding Travelocity.com and serving as founding chairman of Kayak.com. He chaired Kayak.com’s board until Priceline bought it for $1.8 billion in 2013.
Through speaking engagements and publication of his book, ON Innovation, he has become a powerful voice in the entrepreneurship world.
Additional speakers at the event include Tom Giacalone, vice president and general manager for digital operations at Vera Bradley; Mike Clem, senior vice president for e-commerce at Sweetwater Sound, and Ron Daniel, Do it Best Corp.’s e-commerce manager.
The event costs $189 per person with a $39 discount for Greater Fort Wayne, Inc. investors and a $159 discount for qualifying entrepreneurs who have not been in business more than three years and have no more than five employees, or who are clients of the event’s partner organizations.
Partner organizations listed in the event’s announcement included 212 by Artlink, Brightpoint, Indiana Tech’s Center for Creative Collaboration, Community Development Corp. of Northeast Indiana, Elevate Northeast Indiana, The Penta C.S.
