Explore Angola during the next regional field trip

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Want to experience life in Angola? Join the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership and Greater Fort Wayne Inc. as they invite the community to attend the second installment of the regional field trip series to explore Angola on Friday, Oct. 23. Attendees will enjoy a free, half-day guided tour of Angola’s lively and vibrant downtown.

The Angola Field Trip will include a visit to T. Furth Performing Arts Center, the Brokaw Theatre, the Northern Indiana Lakes Country Enterprise Center and downtown Angola. There will also be an information session on the development of regional library maker spaces and lunch at the Potawatomi InnAngola Field Trip at Pokagon State Park. Free time to explore is included; however, the event is time-sensitive to accommodate busy schedules.

The regional field trip will offer a unique look into quality of life success stories as well as detailed explanations of future quality of life plans for the area. In addition to highlighting progress, the trip will also help folks build connections with the county by learning about the creative options that make Northeast Indiana a great place to live.

Guests have two options for the Steuben County Field Trip: take the free shuttle from Fort Wayne to Angola or arrange personal transportation to meet the group. The event is free, but all guests must RSVP and bring the RVSP confirmation slip to the tour. You must register online through Eventbrite to attend this event. Space is limited to 30 guests. During the registration process, participants can choose the shuttle or personal transportation options. To RSVP for the regional field trip, visit the Regional Cities Initiative page.

The shuttle boards at 7 a.m. and takes off at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23 from 200 East Main St., in downtown Fort Wayne. Attendees can load the shuttle on Barr Street next to the 1st Source Building. Guests arranging personal transportation must meet the group promptly at 8:30 a.m. at Northern Indiana Lakes Country Enterprise Center, 903 S. Wayne St., Angola, Ind. The tour wraps up at 1:15 p.m. and the bus returns to Fort Wayne at 2:15 p.m.

“The regional field trip series connects neighbors with the surrounding region through a warm and welcoming guided tour,” said John Sampson, president and CEO of the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership. “By highlighting the creative quality of life assets around the region, we’re inspiring a shared vision of future growth essential to attract and retain talent.”

The Angola Regional Field Trip is the second in a series to highlight communities across Northeast Indiana. The first regional field trip took nearly 50 guests on a walking tour of downtown Wabash.
