Fort Wayne, Ind. – Officials at Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA) are pleased to announce that Delta will soon offer an additional flight between Fort Wayne and Atlanta, creating more connecting opportunities for the region’s travelers.

Beginning June 9, 2012, Delta will be adding its fourth daily flight to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). Dubbed as Fort Wayne’s gateway to the world, the Atlanta hub will offer more options for travelers to reach their destinations worldwide. The new flight will depart FWA at 2:55 p.m. and arrive at ATL at 4:46 p.m. Return service from ATL will depart at 12:50 p.m. and arrive into FWA at 2:30 p.m.

“We’re very happy to be one of the few markets where air service is being added,” said Dave Young, Vice President of Air Service Development at the Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce. “Delta has been very pleased with our market, and this new service is a true testament to the community’s strong support.”

With a total of four daily flights to Atlanta, five flights to Detroit, and a route to Minneapolis, Delta is FWA’s most popular carrier, offering passengers a multitude of connecting options. The new service will continue through mid-November.

“Our additional frequency between Fort Wayne and our global gateway in Atlanta means even more options for our Fort Wayne customers to enjoy convenient one-stop connections to more than 200 destinations worldwide, including nearly 70 international cities, during the peak travel seasons,” said Joe Esposito, Delta’s Managing Director – Domestic Network Planning. “With our flights to our hubs in Minneapolis-St. Paul and Detroit, Delta offers an unsurpassed global network for our Fort Wayne customers.”
