FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Fort Wayne Downtown Improvement District recently won an award for its efforts to market downtown Fort Wayne.
The International Downtown Association, at its yearly conference in Minneapolis, recognized the Downtown Improvement District (DID) with a Downtown Merit Award for its "Discover Downtown" video series.
The project highlighted a wide array of downtown amenities and was among 10 qualified entries in the category of Marketing and Communication. It aired weekly through spring 2012 on WANE-TV and the series is posted on the DID website.
“We are thrilled to be recognized by the International Downtown Association and our peers in downtown development for our work on these informative videos. It was a really fun series to produce because there are so many great things to feature in downtown Fort Wayne,” Tena Woenker, marketing director of the DID, said in the news release.
“We’re proud to be associated with Fort Wayne’s Downtown Improvement District. A healthy downtown is in everyone’s best interests. These pieces were first class. I live here and this made me want to experience the downtown more!” says Ted Linn, WANE news director.
The conference lasted September 21-24.
