Holcomb Announces Downtown Enhancement Grants

Alex Brown | Inside INdiana Business

INDIANAPOLIS -

Lieutenant Governor Eric Holcomb has announced six communities have been awarded Downtown Enhancement Grants to help fund economic development plans. The grants are awarded by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.

Holcomb's office says the grant funds range from $5,000 to $10,000 and aim to "improve local quality of life, spur economic development and advance avenues for increasing private investment and employment in their downtown areas."

"Indiana’s rural cities and towns are every day developing vibrant main streets that welcome new businesses, visitors, and residents, and the Downtown Enhancement Grant program helps fuel those important efforts," said Holcomb. "I commend each Spring recipient for their collaborations at the state and local levels. Together, we can ensure our hometowns are thriving as attractive places to live, work, and play."

The recipients and the grant amounts are:

  • Aurora - $10,000
  • Columbia City - $9,341
  • Peru - $5,000
  • Seymour - $5,659
  • Veedersburg - $10,000
  • Vevay - $10,000

The DEG program is a part of OCRA's Indiana Main Street program. Click here to learn more about the Downtown Enhancement Grants.
