IPFW selects new engineering dean

Manoochehr Zoghi will be the new dean of the College of Engineering, Technology and Computer Science at Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne, effective July 1.

He is currently the founding chair of the Department of Construction Management at California State University, Fresno. Zoghi received bachelor of science and master of engineering degrees in civil engineering from the University of Louisville, and a doctorate in civil engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He also holds certificates of completion in the Executive Leadership Program from the University of California, Berkeley, and the Experiential Classroom in Entrepreneurship from the University of Florida.

Zoghi has taught a wide variety of civil engineering and engineering mechanics courses and conducts research in the interdisciplinary areas of infrastructure revitalization, nondestructive evaluation and structural health monitoring, soil-structure interaction and geohazards. His research has been sponsored by the National Science Foundation, Federal Highway Administration, several state departments of transportation and private industry.

He has received numerous awards for teaching, research and community service.
