Ivy Tech Gains Approval For More Degrees

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Indiana Commission for Higher Education (CHE) has approved Ivy Tech Community College to offer new Pre-Engineering, HVAC, Energy Technology and Advanced Manufacturing degrees and certificates at select Ivy Tech campuses.
The Associate of Science in Pre-Engineering degree will now be offered at Ivy Tech’s Lafayette campus. The Commission approved the first A.S. in Pre-Engineering degree in 2006 for the Valparaiso and Evansville campuses. In 2011, the campuses of South Bend, Warsaw, Fort Wayne and Indianapolis were also approved to offer the degree program, which is transferrable to Purdue University-Calumet, Purdue University-North Central, IUPUI and the University of Southern Indiana.
Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) will now be offered as a certificate, Technical Certificate and Associate of Applied Science at Ivy Tech’s Richmond and Sellersburg campuses. The credentials are also available at Ivy Tech campuses in Valparaiso, South Bend, Fort Wayne, Lafayette, Kokomo, Muncie, Terre Haute, Indianapolis, Evansville, and Bloomington.
An Associate of Applied Science and Technical Certificate in Energy Technology was also approved to be offered at Ivy Tech campuses in Valparaiso, South Bend, Fort Wayne, Muncie, Terre Haute, Indianapolis, Evansville, Sellersburg and Bloomington. The Energy Technology program was first approved in 2009 to be offered at Ivy Tech’s Lafayette campus.
The Technical Certificate in Advanced Manufacturing was approved to be offered at Ivy Tech’s campuses in Valparaiso, East Chicago, South Bend, Warsaw, Fort Wayne, Lafayette, Kokomo, Logansport, Muncie, Anderson, Terre Haute, Indianapolis, Richmond, Connersville, Columbus, Madison, Lawrenceburg, Evansville, Sellersburg and Bloomington. In June 2008, the Commission authorized Ivy Tech to split its Advanced Manufacturing and Industrial Technology program into two separate programs: Advanced Manufacturing and Industrial Technology. The Associated of Applied Science degree in Advanced Manufacturing is available at all Ivy Tech regions.
