Ivy Tech partners with Grace on reverse transfer

Ivy Tech Community College has completed a reverse transfer agreement with another Indiana institution. Ivy Tech says the agreement with Grace College in Winona Lake will help boost Indiana's college degree attainment level. 

The agreement with allow Ivy Tech students who have transferred to Grace College to complete their associate degree. To be eligible, students must have completed a minimum of 15 credit hours at Ivy Tech and be currently enrolled as an undergraduate at Grace College with at least 75 total credit hours.

An associate degree will be conferred upon the student following a review of his or her official transcript. Ivy Tech says the reverse transfer program will help students on their way to a bachelor's degree.

"Ivy Tech and Grace share the common mission of helping our students’ succeed, and reverse transfer becomes a first credential for many of those students along their career pathway," said Ivy Tech President Sue Ellspermann. "Research also suggests that students who receive a degree through reverse transfer are even more likely to complete their baccalaureate."

Ivy Tech has reverse transfer agreements with numerous colleges and universities throughout Indiana. In 2017 alone, Ivy Tech signed agreements with the University of Southern Indiana, Trine University, Indiana Tech, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, and Indiana Wesleyan University.
