Janus International to bring over 50 new jobs to DeKalb County

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Janus International, the leading manufacturer of steel roll-up doors and building components designed for the self-storage, industrial and commercial door dealer markers, will open a new facility in Butler, Indiana. The company plans to be operational by the summer and to create 50 jobs initially, with employment expected to reach 100 in the next few years.

The company will invest $650,000 to lease, equip and renovate the Butler location. As part of the project, Janus will receive a $475,000 Economic Development for a Growing Economy (EDGE) tax credit from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC).

"Janus is a great fit to Butlers industrial base," said Ron Walter, mayor of Butler. "The company aligns well with our existing manufacturers. We are pleased to welcome them to Butler and look forward to having a once empty manufacturing facility become productive again."

Janus, which is headquartered in Georgia, purchases steel from Steel Dynamic, Inc.'s Butler location and wanted to open a facility closer to the steel supplier and establish a physical presence in the Midwest.

"This is another great win for Northeast Indiana," said Dale Buuck, vice president of business development at the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership. "This project was over a year in the making, and I am thankful for the collaboration between the region, the state and our local economic development partners in making this happen. With connections already established in the region, opening a location in Butler makes perfect sense for Janus."

The project originated as a lead when Janus reached out to the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership looking for available sites in the region. Once the Butler site was chosen, the DeKalb County Economic Development Partnership and the IEDC worked to complete the project with Janus.
