Kosciusko releases '15 report
Journal Gazette
The Kosciusko Economic Development Corp. worked with employers last year on 11 projects that promised 850 new jobs at average hourly wages of $18.26.
The nonprofit last week released its 2015 annual report and 2016 work plan. Last year’s summary included new capital investment of $67.3 million. Eight projects were expansions by existing employers. Three investments were by employers new to the county.
About 40,000 workers are employed in Kosciusko, a significant increase from about 33,000 in 2010, the year KEDCo was formed.
The organization has business retention, infrastructure, marketing, and small-business entrepreneurship committees, each with detailed goals for the year. The business retention committee, for example, plans to make at least 50 calls on local employers and schedule at least 40 follow-up meetings.
