Dupont Hospital landed for the second consecutive year on Truven Health Analytics' list of the country’s 100 Top Hospitals, Lutheran Health Network said Tuesday.
This is the third time Lutheran's Dupont Hospital has been recognized. The first was in 2012. Dupont is listed in a group of medium-sized community hospitals.
Parkview Regional Medical Center made its first appearance on Truven's Top 100 list, while Parkview Huntington Hospital made it for the third time.
The medical center in Fort Wayne is listed with teaching hospitals. Parkview Huntington is listed with small community hospitals. Mercy Defiance Hospital in Defiance, Ohio, is also listed with small hospitals.
Truven bills itself as a leading provider of data-driven analytics and solutions to improve the cost and quality of healthcare. Truven's Top 100 list is based on a scorecard measuring overall organizational performance in 11 key areas including patient care, operational efficiency and financial stability.
"We view each accolade we receive as a springboard to bigger and better things, not a finish line,” Chad Towner, Dupont Hospital's chief executive officer, said in a statement.
Mike Packnett, president and CEO of Parkview Health, said in a statement his organization holds itself to a "higher standard as healthcare delivery evolves." The focus includes innovation and value for patients in service, cost and other areas.
