Barnes & Thornburg LLP has signed a 15-year lease for office space in the Ash Skyline Plaza downtown, the law firm announced Friday.
It will join several other tenants in Ash Skyline Plaza, which will also house the new headquarters for Ash Brokerage, an estimated $98 million project.
Barnes & Thornburg will move from 110 E. Wayne St. to about 17,000 square feet at 888 Harrison St., Suite 600, when the build-out is complete, scheduled for mid-August.
The firm has about 30 employees in its Fort Wayne office, Randy Brown, local managing partner, said Friday. The current Wayne Street office is in the Indiana Michigan Power Center.
Ash Skyline is a centerpiece of Fort Wayne’s downtown redevelopment. The project has nine floors and about 141,000 square feet of commercial and retail space and an attached parking garage.
Brown said Barnes & Thornburg is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year in Fort Wayne and the lease shows its commitment to the city and region.
Other confirmed Ash Skyline tenants are a branch of Lake City Bank, a DeBrand Fine Chocolates store, an executive branch of the Fort Wayne YMCA, The Golden restaurant, and The Find, a sister store to The Trove in Roanoke.
Construction of the adjacent, long-awaited Skyline Tower, a development of Great Lakes Capital, is expected to start this year and will include 124 apartments, as well as retail and office space totaling 170,000 square feet.
