Columbia City, Ind. -- Production machining firm Impact CNC LLC celebrated the opening of the company’s facility in Gateway Park with an open house today hosted by the Whitley County EDC. The company announced plans earlier this year to create up to 106 new jobs by 2014.

Impact CNC LLC is investing nearly $13 million to purchase and equip the 30,000 square-foot facility at 1380 S Williams Drive. The new facility offers computer numerical control (CNC) services for customers in the automotive, heavy-truck and agricultural industries. Impact CNC is now hiring CNC operators, supervisors and support staff. Interested applicants should apply at or at

“We are on track to quickly grow Impact CNC to provide unique and compelling capabilities for our diverse customer base,” said founder and president Jerry Busche, “I am appreciative of the strong support we have received from local and state partners for this project.”
The establishment of Impact CNC LLC follows decisions by companies such as Advanced Materials Development LLC, PDQ Workholding LLC, Sailrite Enterprises, and Three Birds Casual to locate operations in Gateway Industrial Park in recent years.

“The decisions by Impact CNC LLC and other companies to locate and expand their operations in Whitley County demonstrates the importance of our ongoing economic development efforts,” said Chairman of the Board of Commissioners Don Amber, “The Commissioners and Council are fully committed to making sure local government is focused on being prepared and responsive to the needs of our current and future employers.”

The Whitley County Redevelopment Commission is now working with the Whitley County Highway Department, Northeastern REMC, other utility partners, and the Whitley County EDC to complete drainage improvements, signage and lighting upgrades, and road improvements, and to reform the park owners association at Gateway Industrial Park.

“The Whitley County Redevelopment Commission is focused on making sure Whitley County has available infrastructure to attract and retain employers in the US 30 industrial corridor,” said Chairman Bill Overdeer, “Redevelopment Commission members are pleased to see the progress that has been made at Gateway Industrial Park to support investments by companies like Impact CNC LLC.”

On hand to participate in the opening of Impact CNC LLC were representatives from state and local entities including the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, WorkOne Northeast, local elected officials, utility partners, and Whitley County EDC board members.
