Plans are moving forward on a nearly $1 million investment by a Kendallville fastener manufacturer. The News Sun reports the city's economic development advisory committee has approved a tax abatement request from Bollhoff Inc.

The company currently employs 45 and the investment does not include any additional jobs. The publication says the two new machines will boost production capacity for an Italian auto maker client.

Bollhoff is located in the city's East Industrial Park. The News Sun reports during a committee meeting Monday, Director of Operations Chris Lautzenhiser said could add more equipment, jobs and a third shift within the next two to three years. The company also received tax abatement approval from the city last year on additional equipment.
