Companies plan expansions expected to create 70 jobs

A Fort Wayne manufacturer of hot tubs and portable spas plans to create 60 new jobs through an expansion worth about $2 million. Master Spas, 6927 Lincoln Parkway, is asking Allen County Council for a tax abatement on $1.54 million in real estate improvements, $1.38 million in manufacturing equipment and $200,000 in information technology equipment. The company, founded in 1996, currently has 203 employees. The 60 new jobs would pay about $11 an hour, according to an application filed with the Allen County Department of Planning Services. The company expects sales of about $67 million this year.
