Staff, news services
Midwest Weld Source Inc. is investing about $400,000 in an industrial building, upgrades and equipment at 23201 Roemer Drive in Woodburn.
Charlie Seyler, president and CEO, said this is the first permanent home for the 10-year-old distribution company, which previously leased warehouse space.
Midwest Weld, which employs four, specializes in selling welding wire to production welding operations, particularly in the automotive industry. Seyler plans to hire an undetermined number of sales, warehouse and office staff in coming months.
The welding process permanently joins two metal pieces. Welding wire is the material that melts to form the connection. Wire is made from various metals and is sold in assorted diameters. Midwest Weld will offer an area where customers can experiment with various products to find ways to speed production and cut costs.
