Grab your phone and get ready for a close-up as the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership - through its Millennial 2020 initiative - and Wunderkammer Company team up for an Instagram photo contest.
Contestants can enter by simply posting photos on their Instagram account and using the hashtag #NEIpride in the caption as well as the hashtag of the name of their county. All photos need to include a location, person or activity in Northeast Indiana that makes the contestant proud to call Northeast Indiana their home. Participants must reside in the 10 county region of Northeast Indiana to be eligible to win. Those countries are: Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells and Whitley.
In addition to the panel of judges choosing winners, the photo with the most "likes" on Instagram will win the People's Choice Award. Judging will take place April 27 - May 12.
Prizes include gas cards, gift cards to regional restaurants, concert tickets and a regional experience gift basket. The first 100 photos submitted will be displayed in Granite Ridge Builders homes around the region.
Courtney Tritch, Vice President of Marketing at Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, said the contest hopes to engage young people in the region.
We want Millennials to take a moment and think about what Northeast Indiana is offering. There's a lot going on and a lot momentum happening and we want them to share that with their peers and others on social media. We can generate momentum as result of that,” she said,
Tritch said the contest connects with the Regional Cities Initiative when it comes to sharing local passion for quality of life.
“We want to share our quality of life with to each other in Northeast Indiana. When you think of the network that each young person has on social media, it's encouraging because people can see our quality of life assets nationally because of this contest,” Tritch.
