Staff Reports

CrossRoads RV will build a new corporate headquarters at its manufacturing campus in Topeka.

The recreational-vehicle manufacturer, a division of Thor Industries Inc., announced the plans for the 22,000-square-foot headquarters Monday.

The Topeka Town Council has approved tax abatements for the estimated $2-million investment in the new facility. The project is expected to create up to 10 new jobs.

"We are grateful for the continued support we receive and the partnership we have created with the town of Topeka," Michael Kloska, executive vice president of CrossRoads RV, said in a statement. "Building our new corporate headquarters in Topeka demonstrates our commitment to the community. The town of Topeka continues to offer a quality work force and a pro-business environment, which makes it a great place to do business."

CrossRoads manufactures a variety of fifth-wheel and towable RVs. Thor Industries announced in December it planned to build another plant adjacent to its Crossroads facility in Topeka and create as many as 250 jobs by 2014.

"The addition of a brand new corporate headquarters building right on the main corridor into Topeka will demonstrate to visitors and residents alike that Topeka is a great place to do business," Keith Gillenwater, president and CEO of the LaGrange County Economic Development Corp., said in the statement.
