FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The support foundation for the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership has a new executive director.

The Partnership announced Thursday that Katy Silliman has been selected as executive director of the Northeast Indiana Fund. Her appointment was effective January 1.

According to a news release, Silliman will be responsible for providing leadership, operational oversight and strategic development of the Fund as it works to raise money for the Partnerships projects.

The Partnership is first and foremost responsible for marketing northeast Indiana to companies considering expanding or relocating. It's also working with partner organizations on other projects aimed at strengthening the region and turning around a decade-and-a-half economic decline.

One of those projects is Vision 2020, a plan that centers on a handful of goals aimed at creating a better region. Silliman most recently served as director of Vision 2020.

"Northeast Indiana is a region that is serious about building the capacity for economic growth. Katy's acceptance of this new position is a testament to this fact," stated John Sampson, the Partnership's president and CEO.  "Her leadership in the Vision 2020 process over the last two years and her commitment to regional collaboration will prove extremely valuable."

Silliman joined the Partnership in 2006 to support the first fundraising campaign and has held a number of leadership roles in the areas of operations, finance, fund development and marketing ever since.
