New trail section to officially open Thursday

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Thursday by Fort Wayne Trails to mark the completion of a stretch of trail along Covington Road that connects with West Hamilton Road.

The new section is 3/4 of a mile in length and completes a section that had stopped near the entrance to Sycamore Hills Golf Club.  According to Fort Wayne Trails, people can now travel via trail from West Hamilton Road to Headwaters Park (13.5 miles one-way), or even take a longer trip to Moser Park in New Haven (22 miles, one-way).

The ribbon-cutting will take place at 1 p.m., at the northwest corner of Covington and West Hamilton Roads.
