Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership Names Ryan Twiss as Big Goal Collaborative Director

Ryan TwissFORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership has named Ryan Twiss as Big Goal Collaborative Director. The Big Goal Collaborative (BGC) is the regional effort in Northeast Indiana that addresses cradle-to-career training and talent development to increase the number of Northeast Indiana residents with degrees and credentials to 60% by 2025 (the "Big Goal").

In his new role, Twiss will be responsible for leading the operational oversight, strategic development and community engagement efforts of the BGC. Twiss will oversee the various support teams made up of educational leaders and community stakeholders responsible for developing and implementing initiatives designed to reach the Big Goal.

The BGC encompasses all levels of learning from early childhood to workforce and continued education. Recently, its K-8 Change Network, a volunteer committee made up of K-8 educational leaders, convened to prioritize desired results in third grade math and reading. BGC staff members are working closely with post-secondary education admissions and academic officers from throughout Northeast Indiana to focus on issues affecting college retention. The staff is also working with regional partners to develop strategies for supporting and enhancing innovative career and technical education programs.

"Expanding the skilled workforce in the region is vital to the economic growth of Northeast Indiana," said John Sampson, the Partnerships President and CEO. "We are extremely pleased to have Ryan step into this new leadership role. His recent experience with the region's Talent Initiative will serve him well in this new position."

Twiss has served the Partnership in various capacities since 2006. Most recently, he held the position of associate director of the Talent Initiative, which focuses on accelerating education and training initiatives in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

He currently serves on the board of directors for ARCH, Northeast Indiana's historical preservation organization, and is a member of the Foellinger Foundation's Community Impact Advisory Committee (2013).

Twiss earned a bachelor's degree from Indiana University and a J.D. from the Indiana University - Maurer School of Law.

The Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership was formed in 2006 to help build a globally competitive economy in Northeast Indiana. It is a public-private partnership focused on generating business leads and building regional capacity through product development and effective regional collaboration. In 2010, the Partnership launched Vision 2020 to bring the region together around five key areas (the five pillars) for economic growth: 21st Century Talent, Competitive Business Climate, Entrepreneurship, Infrastructure and Quality of Life. Through its combined efforts in business development and capacity building, the Partnership supports its 10 member counties: Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells and Whitley.
