Whitley County company continues rapid growth

COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (February 7, 2012) –PDQ Workholding LLC (PDQ Workholding) announced today that the company is continuing to expand its Whitley County operations. PDQ Workholding, a manufacturer of hydraulic fixtures and workholding solutions for the CNC machining industry, works with a global customer base from its Whitley County operations.

“I am pleased to be expanding PDQ Workholding in Whitley County,” said Jerry Busche, owner of PDQ Workholding, “This community continues to provide an ideal location and a skilled workforce to support my business.”

PDQ Workholding plans to invest more than $1 million in new machinery and equipment by the end of 2012. The company started operations in summer 2010, at which time PDQ Workholding invested more than $3.8 million to lease and equip part of an existing 50,000 square-foot facility in Gateway Park. The company now has 32 employees and is on track to meet or exceed its commitment to create 45 jobs by 2013.

Whitley County Council this morning approved ten-year tax abatement for additional machinery & equipment purchases at the request of Whitley County Economic Development Corporation (EDC). The EDC continues to work with local, regional, and state economic development partners to support PDQ Workholding’s business development efforts.

“Whitley County greatly appreciates the opportunity to support PDQ Workholding’s ongoing job creation and investment,” said Don Amber, president of the County Commissioners, “We always look forward to working with locally owned, locally grown companies like PDQ Workholding.”

The announcement of PDQ’s continued expansion comes a month after Impact CNC, a production machining operation, announced the company will invest more than $13 million to launch operations at a 30,000 SF facility in Gateway Park. The Whitley County Redevelopment Commission is investigating infrastructure upgrades at Gateway Park to support recent investments by PDQ Workholding LLC, Advanced Materials Development LLC, and other Gateway Park owners.
