Raytheon Announces Fort Wayne Job Cuts

August 29, 2012

In what it describes as a difficult but necessary decision to remain competitive, Raytheon Co. (NYSE: RTN) has reduced its work force in Fort Wayne by about 30 positions. The company tells Inside INdiana Business the cuts were sparked by delays in program orders and a "changing mix of the business."

The employees were notified this week.

The Fort Wayne operation is part of Raytheons Network Centric Systems unit, which specializes in control and communications systems.

NCS has deals with the U.S. military, Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Aviation Administration.

The Fort Wayne operation announced an $81 million military contract last month for a new version of an artillery data system.
