Spark Tank coming to Noble County

KENDALLVILLE — Millennial 2020 is sponsoring an all-day event Friday, Feb. 22, from 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.. at the Kendallville Event Center called Spark Tank Noble County.

Spark Tank is similar to the TV show “Shark Tank, millennials will be asked to come up with business ideas or community engagement opportunities and pitch them to the group. After all the ideas are pitched, groups will be formed and business plans or strategies will be created. At the end of the day, all remaining groups will present their idea to a panel of judges. The top two ideas will receive $500 in seed money.

A Spark Tank in Allen County last year was a big success and led to the start of a website of events known as hapn.co. The creators are beta-testing their website with plans to become an application.

“We are really trying to encourage high school millennials to create a sense of ownership and engagement through this amazing opportunity,” said Jordan McArdle, Millennial 2020 coordinator.

“It’s not every day that millennials get the chance to grow their ideas and build them into real, tangible plans,” he said. “Right now, we are looking for high school students that would be interested in attending.”

People who want more information may contact Mcardle at Jordan@NEIndiana.com or 260-469-3465.
