Spherion Staffing of Fort Wayne has announced plans for expansion. The locally-owned office of a national firm says it will relocate to a larger space at the Electric Works mixed-use innovation district in downtown Fort Wayne, a move which follows the office’s 10th anniversary.
Tom Pentenburg co-owns the Fort Wayne office along with his wife, Elizabeth. He says the office is experiencing an "ever-increasing demand" and is continuing investment in state-of-the-art recruiting facilities and technologies.
"The downtown renaissance, including the Electric Works project, highlights what makes Fort Wayne an excellent place to live, work and play in the Midwest region," said Pentenburg. "Electric Works is uniquely positioned as an engine for talent development and a perfect fit for Spherion. We have developed deep roots in the Fort Wayne hiring community and will continue to invest in helping local companies find great talent and in helping great talent find the right career opportunities."
The firm did not provide an investment figure in the expansion or say if any new jobs would be created as a result.
The first phase of the massive $440 million project is underway. Developer RTM Ventures says the addition of Spherion adds to a growing list of tenants, including Parkview Health, Indiana Tech, and Fort Wayne Metals.
